Big Girl

Isha went for her 15 month check up this week and we got lots of good news. She is healthy and growning perfectly. She weighs 20 lbs and 2 oz and she is 29 1/2 inches tall. That puts her in the 20th percentile for height and weight. Her head circumference is up a little bit and the doctor said that is probably due to thickening hair. Our pediatrician is great. He has a great sense of humor. I asked him about Isha being so bowlegged and he said not to worry and that she would outgrow that or else she would grow up to be a great horse back rider. I also asked him when to get rid of the paci (she only uses it in her crib when she sleeps) and he said she would either give it up on her own or when she got embarrassed because her boyfriend found it.

That's my girl. Already showing a love for shoes. She loves to try on all of my shoes. It has finally gotten warm enough to get out the summer clothes. This adorable outfit and the one in the first picture were picked out by Isha's Tia, who has amazing taste in kids clothes. All week it has been like a fashion show around here. I love her smile in this picture!
In other big girl news, we bought Isha a potty chair and yesterday she actually went pee pee in it. She woke up from her nap dry so I put her on the chair and she went potty. The chair sings a song when she uses it and she was so proud of herself. I was so excited, but I know that we have a long road ahead. We are not actively potty training, but I figured it can't hurt to get her familiar with the potty.
We also turned her car seat around so that now it is front facing. I think she liked being able to see what was going on.
Isha has also started wiping her face after she is done eating, wiping her nose and trying to comb her hair. She is growing by leaps and bounds. It is so fun to watch her learn all of this new stuff.
Isha is still working on perfecting her utensil skills. I made her some pasta the other day and figured she wouldn't eat it because she doesn't typically eat pasta, but she surprised me when she ate the whole bowl. Yum Yum Yum! Yesterday evening we went to visit with Tony, Angela, and the kids. Isha was having a good time watching uncle Tony play the Wii. And yes that is a paci in her mouth and I did just tell everyone that she only uses it in her crib, but we had just got her up from sleeping and were getting ready to head back to Richmond. We left at 11:15 at night and of course she stayed awake the whole 1 hour and 15 minute car ride home. And that was even after a dose of benadryl earlier in the evening. The girl just refuses to sleep in the car.

You're not kidding about the fashion show. What a wardrobe!!! Cute, cute, cute. My favorite is the brown. I want a dress like that for myself.

Good thing she is learning to comb her hair. I think that will need to be her first "chore". Go comb your hair Isha. No allowance until it's done right! Just kidding.

Yay for the 20 pound mark. She's almost caught up with my roll-y little chumpkin.

I love the little black and white outfit, do you think it comes in my size? I'm so excited for you that she went potty in her potty chair! We have been thinking about getting one for Belle too, I think we better get a move on!

What a little fashionista!!! Yes, I think the first outfit with the two piggies in her hair - just precious! And I am not sure she really counts as a big girl! :) Such a cutie! -S
