A Little Work On The Nursery

So far I have done nothing to get the new babies nursery ready (I am still calling her the new baby because we still have not decided on how to spell her name), but today I finally made a decision on the bedding for the nursery. I liked this pattern because it isn't one of those obnoxious baby patterns and it is something that she can use for awhile. It has purple accents so that is probably what we will choose for paint. I plan on knitting her a purple blanket to go with her pretty room. Now I just need to work on getting her room cleaned up. There are piles of Isha's old clothes on the floor and bed that need to be boxed up. One of these days I am going to have to get motivated, but I am not in a big rush because we will probably keep her in our room in the bassinet for awhile after she is born. I will have to post another belly picture because this girl is growing like crazy. She also moves around all the time. Isha loves feeling her move and she says that she loves her sister. I hope things stay that sweet once the baby actually gets here.

A Trip To Chincogteague

We decided to take a little road trip this weekend to Chincoteague Virginia. It is a nice drive up there once you are past all of the crazy Norfolk traffic! We crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel and then drove about 90 miles up the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Here is the lighthouse on Assateague Island.

We didn't get to see very many of the wild ponies, but here is one with her baby.
The best part of the whole weekend was taking Isha to the beach on the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.
She loved just sitting in the sand and shoveling it into her bucket! I think that she could have stayed there all day if we had let her.
Isha and Jai braved the freezing cold water. I got in up to my ankles and that was enough for me. It was so cold that it hurt, but Isha didn't seem to mind.
Isha sporting her new lady bug bikini without swim diapers. Yeah!!!
More digging in the sand.
Isha even let us bury her in the sand. Look at that foot in the corner of the picture. Usually it is my thumb that makes it in the picture, but this time I managed to get my foot in there. I guess it is a good thing that I can still see my feet despite my growing belly!
It was the perfect day to spend at the beach. It was in the mid to upper 70's and there was a nice cool breeze that kept us cool and comfortable.
And here is one sleepy little girl after a long day of playing on the beach, sight seeing and walking along nature trails. It was a nice get away and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Chesterfield Berrry Farm

Today we took a trip out to the Chesterfield Berry Farm and we had a blast!! Plus we came home with some sweet and tasty berries. Isha is all ready to head out and pick some berries.

Isha loved the hay ride the we took to get out to the berries. The wagon was pulled by a tractor which Isha thought was great. She has a tractor book that someone gave here and she wants me to read it to her all the time so she thought it was fun to see a real one. I guess she does have a little bit of Idaho in her!!!
Out in the field with our harvest. Usually Isha isn't much of a strawberry eater, but she sampled a few while we were out there picking.
On our trip back. Every time I go to the OB's office the scale has a bigger and bigger number and now I see where all those pounds are going!!
Our little berry picker!!!
After all the work we had a nice picnic lunch complete with a strawberry milkshake!! After lunch Isha played in the big bin of dried corn kernels and then we went out and fed the rabbits and goats. We really enjoyed our trip our today and I hope to go back this fall for blueberries!!!

Our Last Kindermusik Class

Tuesday was our last Kindermusik class. The instructor, Mary Jo, is not going to teach KM anymore because she is going to grad school so it was a sad class. Isha has really enjoyed learning about music and making new friends.

Isha has decided that she is ready to start driving!! YIKES. I thought we had a good 14 or 15 years before she started asking to drive the car. Every time we get in the car she say, "I want to drive your car!!!"
We are in so much trouble!!!!
A couple of weeks ago we sent Stitch back to Idaho to live with my parents and his brother. It broke my heart to see him go and it still makes me cry to not have him here, but he is loving life in Idaho. Him and his brother are enjoying each others company and he is getting lots of love and attention from my parents. I really miss him, but I am happy that he is getting all the love he deserves!!! Isha asks about him a lot and our neighbor, Laura, told here that Stitch is on vacation visiting his grandma, grandpa and brother.

We Finally Picked A Name

We picked a name for our new baby girl. We aren't sure about the spelling yet so vote in the poll and let us know what you think. Here it is: Dia, Diya, or Deeya Isabelle Oberoi

It is pronounced DEE-AH.

Potty Update

Isha is still doing great with her big girl panties. We have been accident free since Sunday the 3rd of May!! She is even making it through the night dry. We are so proud of her. The only issue is that Isha likes to check out all the potties when we are out of the house (yuck!) and she also likes to say she is done going and then as soon as you go to take her off the potty she says she has to finish. I told her the other day that going potty is not a game and that when she is finished she needs to let me get her off the potty. She proceeded to tell me in a very sassy voice, "I am NOT playing games MOM!!" Well now I know!!!

Isha Is Potty Trained!!!

Here she is sporting her big girl panties!!!

I can't even tell you how excited I am about this!!! We have been diaper free since April 29th! It was a ton of work and there were times that I was crying because I wanted to give up, but in the end I am glad I stuck it out because Isha is doing awesome!!! We started out with this three day potty training method where you throw out the diapers, only wear panties (no pull ups allowed), constantly ask if their panties are dry and have them let you know if they need to go and it also includes bedtime potty training! It is really intense and we stayed home for three straight days and things were going great in the beginning, but as time went on I could see that there was a serious power struggle developing. On the third day, after a huge melt down, I decided we needed to change our strategy. I toned down the praise (all my ranting and raving about going pee in the potty had gone to Isha's head and she knew she was in control), I stopped giving rewards, and I stopped asking her if she was dry or if she had to go. I just watched her closely and decided not to stress if she peed on the floor (we are getting the carpets cleaned soon anyways) and when I could tell she really had to go I would ask her if she needed to go and if she said no then I just ignored it. Eventually she would give in and use the potty. Yesterday was our best day so far. NO accidents and she woke up dry at nap time and this morning! I know that we are still going to have some accidents and I really have to be vigilant and getting out of the house is hard because I try to schedule outings around "safe" times, but I think that after a few weeks it will be much easier!!
As exciting as this is it is also kind of bitter sweet. Don't get me wrong I am not saying that I want to go back to diapers, but this is just a huge sign that she is growing up and she is no longer a baby.
