Diya's First Photo Session

While my grandma was here we took the girls to get their first professional pictures together. The pictures of the girls together didn't turn out to well, but we did get some cute ones of just Diya. We had a few problems with the session. First our photographer wasn't very good. Isha was having a hard time holding Diya up and the girl just kept taking pictures. I finally had to ask her if we could prop Diya up! They also had a really pretty fall background that she never used. I should have asked for it but I was so stressed out that I was just trying to get the pictures done and over with. I really need to get the names of the good ones and request them!!

Our second problem was that Isha was being totally corny and was making funny faces while Diya looked like she was ready for a boxing match!!Our third problem was that Diya was hungry. I brought a bottle for her, but I should have given it to her before we started because once she got mad it was all down hill. Oh well, live and learn I guess.
There will be more chances in the future to get some good pictures of the girls together, but for now this one will just have to do.
I love Isha's cheesy wink in this one!
One final shot of Diya. It isn't the best picture but I love that you can see her beautiful blue eyes!!!

A Visit From Great Grandma Carol

Diya got a new toy the other day and Isha loves it almost as much as Diya does!! Diya is getting to the point where she likes to be entertained and is no longer happy just laying around looking at the ceiling. Every time we lay her down Isha has to come over and snuggle up with her little sister. It is really sweet.

My Grandma Carol came to see the girls. She has made a trip out from Washington every year since Isha was born. The girls are so lucky to have a Great Grandmother in their lives, and especially one that can come to visit with them.
The weather was beautiful while my grandma was here so we took the girls to the park one day and it was great to be outside in the beautiful Virginia fall weather. Diya got lots of time with Grandma Carol which was great!
Isha must have gone down the slide 100 times while we were at the park.

Just The Girls

Dad has been out of town this week so it has just been me and the girls at home. Last night we made a pizza and watched the BSU football game! Go Broncos!!!

Isha helped me chop the olives for the pizza while Diya hung out in the bouncy seat and supervised.
Yesterday the fire truck came to Isha's school! Here is a picture of her class with the fire truck and fireman. Of course, since I was there, Isha had to put on a show and pretend to be scared and she refused to get in the picture.
The girls are getting a little daddy time!
This is what Isha does anytime I tell her to smile for the camera! She is a dentist's dream but a camera happy mom's nightmare!!!! I love Diya's smile in this picture.
No smiles in this picture, but at least you can't see Isha's tonsils!!
We have been getting lots of care packages in the mail since Diya arrived and Isha has had a blast playing with all her new toys and wearing her new clothes! Here she is trying her hair bows out on her ankles. Silly girl! Grandma Louise sent her lots of Halloween hair bows so we will be all ready for Halloween this year.
Once again here is a "smile" from Isha!
We are doing great and adjusting to being a family of four. Things are pretty easy most of the time. Isha is definitely trying out the "terrible twos", but she makes up for it with her adorable facial expressions, funny antics and hilarious conversations. I love being the mom to two adorable and wonderful little girls!!!!

Two Months Old

Diya had her two month check up today and she is doing great. She now weights 10 pounds and 7 ounces and is 22 1/4 inches. She has gained a little over one pound and grown a full inch!! She is still in the 50 percentile for height and weight.

Poor Diya also got lots of shots today and I had to watch her get them. Usually they give them to her while we are talking to the doctor, but they were busy today and hadn't gotten to Diya by the time I was done, so I was brave and stayed with her. It is the saddest thing. The poor baby got two shots in each leg and her little face turned red the instant the needle went in. It made me tear up to see her so unhappy.
Diya is also developing perfectly. She is smiling all of the time. My favorite is when she gets up first thing in the morning she always has a big smile for me. What a perfect way to start the day.
She is doing great at holding her head up and she is cooing all of the time. So far her eyes have stayed blue!! We are hoping that they stay this way. That way we will have one brown eyed beauty and one blue eyed beauty!
This was supposed to be a picture of the adorable booties that Holli made for Diya, but instead it looks like Diya is waiting for a flood!! I will get a better picture of the booties to post at a later date!

Sisters

Isha and Diya are doing great!! Isha loves her little sister. She is very gentle with her and she enjoys talking to her and giving her lots of hugs and kisses.

Diya is doing great. She had started to outgrow most of the newborn clothes and she is getting much more vocal. She is "talking" a lot and is also spending a little more time awake every day. One of the best things is that she is starting to focus on stuff and is good at giving great big grins when she sees us.
Jai's parents have been her visiting the last few weeks so Diya has spent lots of time snuggling with her grandpa and Isha has been playing with her grandma.
Such a sweet little face. Diya still has blue eyes and I am starting to wonder if they are going to stay that way. I guess we will just have to wait and see.
Isha has a new favorite phrase: You've got to be kidding me!! She says this all the time. It totally cracks me up when she says it because it is so darn cute. She is such a nut, I have no idea where she comes up with this stuff, but I love it because she always keeps us laughing. Isha is really enjoying school and so far I haven't had any calls from her teacher so everything must be going well. The other day they painted pictures and Isha told the teacher that her picture was a "masterpiece".
