Uncle Jamie and Aunt Nicole's Wedding

July 17, 2010
Salt Lake City, Utah
Jamie and Nicole at their reception. They did all of the food for the reception by themselves. We had a wonderful lunch of pulled pork and roast beef sandwiches, pasta and potato salad and fruit and vegetables complete with brownies, cookies and cupcakes for dessert!!! Jamie and Nicole at the wedding ceremony. After the wedding reception we all went to The Copper Onion, where Jamie is a chef, to have more to eat and spend more time visiting with family. I love this picture!! I couldn't as for a better brother or uncle for my girls!!!
Diya got to meet her great aunt Donna, my dad's sister. She also got to meet her great grandma Jeanette who lives in Seattle. I am so glad they were able to make it to the wedding so that we could see them and they could get to spend some time with the girls.
This was the first time that Diya had met her grandpa Jack. She gave him lots of good loves and snuggles!! Plus she enjoyed hamming it up for the camera.
This was also the first time that Diya had met her Aunt Kelli.
Diya and Uncle Marty were best buddies. She took to him instantly and never fussed once while he had here. He is like some sort of baby/kid whisperer!!! Kids just love him.
The wedding was wonderful and it was so nice to have all of us together to help Jamie and Nicole celebrate this great day in their lives.

Graduation Party

Jai's cousins just graduated from college and high school so we headed up to northern Virginia to help them celebrate. Isha and her Aunt Sweetie.

It took Diya awhile to warm up to everyone but eventually she let other people hold her. Anish and Parul finally get a little Diya time.
Diya loves to lean back when you are holding her. I have to be careful because I have almost dropped her a few times when she leaned back and I wasn't expecting it.
The girls had lots of fun being pampered by their aunts and playing with their cousins. We definitely need to head back up so that we can all hang out together again.
Diya is learning all kinds of new stuff. She has started clapping and the other day she finally said Mama. I was so happy to finally hear her say it after hearing her say Dada for months now. Her other cute trick is that she rubs her hands together every time I change her diaper. She is copying me because I use the hand sanitizer when I change her diaper. Smart little cookie!
She loves to crawl under stuff, but then she has no idea how to get out.

Playing Outside

I haven't been brave enough to take both girls to the swimming pool so we have been playing in the little blow up pool in the back yard. Diya loves to kick and splash in the pool. It is so cute to hear her scream and squeal!!!

Isha enjoys playing in the sprinkler and I am sure our poor dry grass enjoyed the extra water. It has been extremely hot here. There were a few days that we didn't even leave the house because it was so hot!!
My little bathing beauties!

Sisters

As Diya gets older and bigger her and Isha are getting closer and are spending more time playing together. I love to see the two of them together. Isha is a great big sister. She is always making sure that Diya is safe and happy.

Now if I can just get Isha to share toys with her then life would be almost perfect!!! But it doesn't look like that is going to happen any time soon. Isha loves to pick up toys and hide them so that Diya can't play with them.
My sweet girls.
The girls love to be together. They spend lots of time snuggling, but lately I have had to remind Isha to be gentle with her. I think that since Diya is so mobile now Isha forgets that she is still a baby.
No one makes Diya laugh as loud or as hard as her big sister! Her little face lights up whenever she sees Isha.
Isha loves to hold Diya like this but of course Diya wants to be left alone so I have to remind Isha to give her some space, but for the most part Diya is pretty patient with her.
I love having two girls!! Watching them interact together is the best. I hope and pray that they always love each other.
Going for a pony ride. Diya doesn't look to happy in this picutre.

Isha's Hair

Isha's hair has gotten SO long. People are constantly stopping me when we are out to comment on her hair. When we wash it and it is wet it goes all the way down to her waist!!!

Sometimes I wonder how someone so totally adorable can be so darn annoying and difficult, and then I remember that she is three years old. It's a good thing that she is cute otherwise I think I would wrap her up and ship her off to live with Grandma and Grandpa!!!

A Diya Update

It is hard to believe that Diya is already 10 months old!! She is learning something new every day and it is so fun to watch her. Here she is with the blanket that I just finished knitting for her.

One of her new skills is waving! It is so cute, sometimes she will wave to people on the TV.

This girl loves to eat and she will eat almost anything. The other night we had fish and broccoli for dinner and she loved it. I recently made a chili meatloaf that was full of onions, peppers, tomatoes, and beans and she ate a ton of it. I am so lucky to have such good eaters. I hope it stays that way.
Diya has also gotten a few more teeth. Her two bottom ones are about halfway in and now she has two just coming in on the top. They are the teeth next to the two front top teeth, so now she is starting to look like a little vampire! Very cute! I have started brushing her teeth and so far she doesn't seem to mind.
Diya gets around all over the house. She is the fastest crawler. You can hear her thumping along on the hard wood foors. Isha does a good job of alerting me when Diya is getting into something that she isn't supposed to be getting into. Actually, I think Isha enjoys this job a little too much. Diya is pulling herself up all the time now and the other day she was holding onto a toy with wheels and she took a few steps. I am not ready for walking yet. I just want her to stay a baby a little while longer. I thought it would be hard to see her doing all of these things because she is my last baby, but instead of being sad I have enjoyed seeing her learn new things and be so inquisitive.

A New Do For Diya

I put Diya's hair up in piggy tails the other day and here is her new look. As sweet as she looks I am sure you aren't going to believe this, but it was like a wrestling match trying to do her hair. She doesn't mind having her hair combed or having clips put in it, but she did not like sitting still long enough for piggy tails.

Once I finally got them in she left them in all afternoon and was pretty proud of her new do.
Could she get any cuter???? Oh my gosh, I love this kid!!!

Diya's New Tricks

The last month has been a busy one for Diya. She figured out how to sit up all by herself and it wasn't long after that that she figured out how to crawl!! She is into everything now. Of course the first thing she headed for was all the buttons on the TV. What is it with kids and buttons? She has already pulled herself up to standing a few time, but luckily she hasn't started to take any steps yet. It is so fun to watch her because she is so proud of herself, but at the same time it is sad to see my baby growing up so fast.

Diya also got a tooth this month. She had been fussy for awhile, but since Isha got teeth so late I thought I still had a few months before I had to deal with teething. The other day I noticed that her bottom front tooth had popped through and the other one is almost there. She looks like she is working on all four front teeth on the top so they will probably be here soon.

Just Some Cute Pictures To Share

Diya and Daddy
I have the hardest time getting a picture of this girl. When ever the flash light comes on she closes here eyes! We went to Maymont with some friends and while everyone was taking a potty break I got some pictures of Isha. This is her "America's Next Top Model" pose. She loves to pose for the camera.
Here is the mean girl face while dancing! Watch out.
This is one of my favorite outfits, so I am glad that Diya is able to wear it also. When Isha was a baby we took a picture of her in every new outfit she got. We were amazed at how cute she was. I feel bad that we don't do this as often with Diya because she is just as adorable, but I guess that is what happens to the second child.

A Good Weekend

The YMCA was having an event for kids so we stopped by to check it out.

Isha said she wanted to ride the pony so we waited in line and I thought that she would chicken out when it was her turn, but she was brave and she hopped right on.
She loved going for a ride.
She also got to give Clifford (or Clippord, that's what Isha calls him) a big hug.
She doesn't look to excited about sitting in the fire truck, which is funny because she loves when we see one. She always asks me if we can "catch it down". After our busy morning we went to our favorite lunch place that we go to every Saturday. This was the first time that Diya sat up in the high chair. It was great until she leaned her head forward and banged it on the table. Maybe she isn't quite ready yet.

Diya's Photo Shoot

I figured it was time to take Diya in for some pictures. My intentions where to get one of the two of us together since I did this with Isha when she was little and one of Diya by herself. Well I ended up leaving the studio with way more than I bargained for, but how can you say no to a picture this cute: After the photographer was done taking her pictures in the clothes I had brought she had me leave her in just a diaper and she put her in with all these cute props. When I saw how cute they turned out I had to get this one too.

She was just too cute!!!
I wanted to get six months pictures but we didn't make it in until she was 8 months. Oh well, close enough.
The pictures of the two of us together didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. They were the first ones we did so it took her awhile to feel comfortable.
We had lots of fun and Diya did a great job. No crying and I had tons of cute pictures to choose from.
