Rollers

As a little girl my mom would always put rollers in my hair. I was finally able to talk Isha into letting me put them in her hair. She was a pretty good sport about it, but as soon as she got up she wanted them OUT!! Her hair was so pretty, but the curls were gone by noon. I guess I may have to put some kind of gel or something in her hair to help the curl stay. After a long day playing with Uncle Jamie and Aunt Nicole, Isha passed out while snuggling with her daddy.

A Visit From Uncle Jamie and Aunt Nicole

We were so excited for Uncle Jamie and Aunt Nicole to come visit us here in Virginia!

It was a world wind visit. We tried to cram as much in as we could. Unfortunately I didn't do a good job of capturing most of it on camera. We had lots of fun checking out some famous Richmond places and we also ate lots of good food.
We did take a little road trip to Washington DC. Unfortunately the weather was bad and so was Diya!! It was a quick trip, but we did get a chance to enjoy some beautiful flowers and some time out of the rain. I am posting these pictures of the flowers we saw because I don't have any other pictures to share. I am so sad that poor Uncle Jamie didn't make it into any of the pictures. The girls loved having him and Aunt Nicole here and mommy was pretty teary after they left. When people come to visit it is so nice, but it is also really hard to say good-bye!!!

An Apple A Day

I have found that the girls are more apt to eat an apple if they can have the whole thing. So I finally gave in and just let them have at it. Diya looks so skinny in this picture. She is a tiny little thing, but I promise that there is a little chubby roll on her legs under her dress.

Isha loves to do anything that proves she is a "big girl" so getting to eat the whole apple and not slices is the perfect thing for her to prove this point. Here is our little Mardi Gras baby. I think that all the beads weigh more than she does.
My little baby bronco booster!!! Go broncos!!

Diya's First Haircut

The time has finally come for Diya to get her first hair cut. So far so good, but then came the apron and it all went downhill!!

She was not a happy girl!! I had brought snacks to give her, but since her arms were covered up it kind of blew that plan. Had I know it was going to be so tramatic I would have had them skip the apron, but once the damage was done it was too late to go back.
Poor baby!!
It didn't even help that cartoons were on the TV. She just wanted out of that chair.
She was back to her happy self once she was back in her Daddy's arms. We took her out for ice cream afterwards and now she has a headful of beautiful curls!!!

Marshmallow, Cute Girls and A Messy Eater

Diya loves marshmallows and I have to make sure the pantry door is shut or this is what happens.
And don't even think about trying to take them away from her.
Sweet little girls bundled up for the cold weather.
Diya sporting her adorable hat!
Some good sister time. They love to sit here together on the bottom of the stairs.
Diya eating chili...no more explanation needed. I don't know why she feels the need to do this, but Diya loves to rub her dinner all over her forehead and in her hair. I have learned to just take her clothes off and let her have at it.

Temper Temper!!

Diya has started to assert herself and if she doesn't get her way, watch out!! She loves to lay down on the floor and throw a fit. Let the fun begin!!!

Visiting With Family

We spent the day in Northern Virginia visiting with family. Here are the girls with their Aunt Toni.

Diya refuses to let us feed her, but it is okay when her Uncle helps her!!
Me and my girls. I absolutely love these two beautiful girls!!!

Happy Fourth Birthday Isha!

We celebrated Isha's fourth birthday with a pizza party with a few of the neighbors. Here Isha is blowing out the candle on her ice cream cake, yummy!! The kids all had a great time playing and Isha got to know the little girl her age that moved in down the street!!! What more can you ask for...ice cream cake and a new friend!

Isha's Uncle Bobby, Tia Viviann and Stephen sent Isha a cookie bouquet. Of course all the cookies were of her favorite princess, Jasmine. The girls enjoyed munching on the cookies.

Isha's Magazines

I think it is funny that Isha gets as many magazines as me. She loves her Turtle magazine that Grandma Louise sends her and she always asks me where her teacher is in the Tae Kwon Do magazine. I am glad that she has a wide range of interests!!

Movie Time

We made some popcorn and the girls snuggled in for movie time. Of course we watched The Great Fairy Rescue.

It was so sweet to see them snuggled up together enjoying the movie. I was surprised that Diya watched the whole movie!!

Playroom Fun

The girls are enjoying the new playroom!! It is really nice to have a place to keep all the toys and it is also nice to have a place for them to play when I am trying to cook dinner. We put a gate up so that when I am cooking I can lock them in the playroom. You would think they are being locked in solitary confinement when I shut the gate!! I have learned to not listen to the crying because they stop after about 30 seconds and then they are happy to sit in there and play.

They also love haning out in the Fairy Fort!!

Christmas 2010

After a big trip and a round of the stomach flu we are all glad to be happy and almost healthy on Christmas morning!! We decided to convert our morning room into a play area for the girls. Luckily Jai started feeling better so that we were able to get it done. There is no way I could have done it alone. We had to take the table out and put the floor down and get all the toys down from the third floor!!! Man was that a work out. Here is the new playroom that Santa left for the girls on Christmas morning.

Lots of new toys to keep the girls busy.
Santa brought Isha the Barbie house she had been asking for. It now lives in her room where, for the the most part, it is free of Diya's destructive hands.
It's Christmas morning, why not let your kids eat cookies for breakfast?
Isha loves her new Polly Pocket.
Diya is checking out all the loot from her stocking.
Isha loves her new Barbie house. She is closely guarding her Hershey's Kisses!!
Santa brought us all Singamajigs. Isha loves hers and Diya loves to listen to them sing. Mommy is happy that Santa also brought her one!
Our neighbors, James and Karina, brought the girls these adorable little incense burners home from their trip to Europe. I know that these will be a great keepsake for the girls. I still have Christmas ornaments that my grandparents got for me on all of their travels and they are some of my favorite Christmas decorations.
Here is our little princess doing some Tae Kwon Do moves on the Bop It Buddy!! A great way to get some aggression out.
Santa also brought the girls a fairy fort! Here are Jai and the girls trying it out.
There was definitely a theme to this Christmas ... Princesses!!! Isha is all about the princesses and fairies!!
We had a great Christmas. It was so nice to be home!!!

Cookie Baking

After our trip we needed to get back into the holiday spirit so Isha and I baked some Christmas cookies.

Cooking with Isha is always an adventure. This girl loves to talk and she does a great job of keeping me company in the kitchen!
Isha is the official cookie taster. She is more like her Dad, after a few bites she is done. Meanwhile I am scarfing down cookies like crazy. Diya on the other hand takes after her mommy. That girls loves sugar!!!
