Climbing All Over

I found Isha sitting on top of the wicker furniture in the morning room. This new found skill means more work for me. Now I have to get her down from the furniture because she gets up there and can't get down and then she starts yelling for someone to come rescue her. As if it isn't nerve wracking enough that she can climb up the furniture, she loves to stand on it and run around. She hasn't fallen yet so I guess I shouldn't be so worried. Once again she is wearing her shoes on the wrong part of her body. This weekend some friends came over for dinner and Isha and Hunter had a good time playing together. Giving each other a big hug!

Happy Birthday and Happy Father's day

We had a really busy weekend and unfortunately I forgot the camera for most of it. Friday night we had a small group BBQ that was lots of fun. Saturday we went to Fredericksburg to celebrate a high school graduation. We had a great time hanging out at the party, but the real fun began when the DJ showed up. Isha pushed her way out onto the dance floor and spent the next hour getting down. She was shaking her booty, kicking her feet and waving her arms. At one point I think she was even doing the lawnmower. She was the life of the party. We are going to have to take a video of her dancing skills so that we can show them off here on the blog. These are just some cute pictures taken last week. She is in to everything now. The house constantly looks like a tornado hit it. Isha has also figured out how to climb up on stuff. Unfortunately she hasn't figured out how to get down. These pictures have made me realize that it is time to clean up the computer room. How embarrassing! Since Sunday was my birthday and father's day we went to Brusters and had ice cream. Isha got her very own cone and she loved it. On Monday we went to the pool for the first time. We had lots of fun and Isha remembered all the stuff that she learned at swimming lessons. She wasn't to happy about having to leave, but with a little coaxing and some goldfish we finally made it home.

A Heat Wave

It has been miserably hot here most of the week, so we haven't been doing much but trying to stay cool. Kindermusik is over for the summer and we finished swimming lessons last week so now we are ready to hang out at the pool. Isha loves to carry shoes around.

Hanging out in her chair Checking out baby dolls toes. Isha crams as much food as possible in her mouth. This is almost half of a banana in there. Her mouth is so full that she has to hold the food in and it is almost impossible for her to chew. I keep telling her to take small bites, but she doesn't listen. She has to get the piano bench just where she wants it. And then she is ready to make some music!

Aman and Shruti's Wedding

Sunday we went to Maryland for a wedding. Jai's cousin, Aman was getting married.

Isha got lots of attentions from all of her aunts, uncles, and cousins!
At first she was a little overwhelmed by all of the festivities. After awhile she was having a good time. She loved dancing to the music and being a daddy's girl! As you can see Isha was in desperate need of some sleep. Even though she missed her nap she was a good girl. Some pictures from the reception. Everyone was impressed by how much Isha can eat. Isha loves most food, but especially Indian food. YUMMY! Isha and Bindu have the same fashion sense. Obviously turquoise is the new black! After a day of fun we got in the car and headed back down to Richmond. Poor Isha was out before we even hit the freeway.

"Stop It"

Isha's very own lawn chair.
She loves crawling on it and standing up in it. It has been a battle to get her to sit in it. I am sure this is part of where she has gotten her new phrase, "Stop it". I guess I have said this to her a few times to many because now she is saying it constantly! She has started to say lots of new words. She also mimics lots of different sounds so I am sure it won't be long before she is talking. Here she is in her chair with her baby doll. She really loves this little doll. Some days we have to take the doll with us everywhere we go. Isha loves to give the doll loves. She hold the doll up close to her face, snuggles her and pats her on the head while cooing at her. We will have to put a video of this on the blog. It is so adorable. We had a birthday party on Friday for Jai and Laura, who share the same birthday. Tony, Angela and the kids came down for the party and spent the night. The next morning Isha had a great time showing off for all of the company. She even gave Tony's shoes a try. Just a few more pictures to show off the cute dress that Isha's Tia got for her! Isha has also started taking things and then running like a maniac. She loves to have you chase her around.

Notice the cute little ankle bracelets that Isha's Aunt Vina brought her from India.

Swimming Lessons

Here is little miss getting ready for her swimming lessons. We go every Tuesday and Thursday. The lessons are only 30 minutes so it is a lot of work for a short little class, but Isha is really enjoying it. The lessons are at the YMCA just down the street. The first lesson was a little tough because the water was colder than we expected, but at the second lesson we eased in the water and knew what to expect so things went much better. Isha is learning to kick her legs and pull with her arms. We also work on blowing bubbles in the water, but most of the time Isha just ends up swallowing a big gulp of pool water. We went to Bill and Stacy's house on Saturday for a wonderful lunch. Isha had a good time playing with Liam and all of his cool toys. And then Saturday evening we went to the Lebanese Food Festival with Lauren and Hunter. Isha had a good time listening to the music and dancing for everyone! What a ham!

A Visit To The Doctor

Isha woke up from her nap Friday afternoon with a fever, but she didn't seem sick so we gave her some Tylenol and she was fine. She slept fine that night, but woke up with the fever the next morning so we called the pediatrician's office and they said to bring her in. Luckily they have early morning sick visit hours on Saturdays. The diagnosis was an ear infection in her left ear. So now we get to do 10 days of antibiotics. Isha is still in a pretty good mood considering she still has a slight fever.

New Pictures

I took Isha to Portrait Innovations today for some pictures. I told myself that I was just doing the $9.95 special and no more. When I went in I told the photographer that all I wanted was one pose and I stuck to it and walked out spending $10.49. I was so proud of myself. So here is what we ended up with. Isha would not let go of me and she kept fussing and whining so I wasn't sure it was going to work. I wasn't sure how we were going to get a shot since the last time she had pictures she wasn't able to walk so we didn't have to deal with her running over to me and crying to be picked up. Puffs did the trick. I put a handful of puffs on the pillar and it was all good after that. Except that in half the pictures you can see her mouth stuffed full of puffs. I have to admit that it did make choosing my one pose easier. For all of you that are still waiting for Isha's Christmas pictures they will be in the mail soon with some of the new pictures.

I didn't buy enough pictures to get the CD so I had to scan this picture in. I didn't really know what I was doing, but somehow I managed to find the picture and get it posted, but I don't know why it has that white border. Oh well, at least I managed to get the picture posted.

Our Little Monkey

Isha is climbing on everything. Since we put a gate up on the stairs she has figured out that she can climb up the outside of the stairs. Pretty soon she is going to be swinging from the rafters!

Big Girl

Isha went for her 15 month check up this week and we got lots of good news. She is healthy and growning perfectly. She weighs 20 lbs and 2 oz and she is 29 1/2 inches tall. That puts her in the 20th percentile for height and weight. Her head circumference is up a little bit and the doctor said that is probably due to thickening hair. Our pediatrician is great. He has a great sense of humor. I asked him about Isha being so bowlegged and he said not to worry and that she would outgrow that or else she would grow up to be a great horse back rider. I also asked him when to get rid of the paci (she only uses it in her crib when she sleeps) and he said she would either give it up on her own or when she got embarrassed because her boyfriend found it.

That's my girl. Already showing a love for shoes. She loves to try on all of my shoes. It has finally gotten warm enough to get out the summer clothes. This adorable outfit and the one in the first picture were picked out by Isha's Tia, who has amazing taste in kids clothes. All week it has been like a fashion show around here. I love her smile in this picture!
In other big girl news, we bought Isha a potty chair and yesterday she actually went pee pee in it. She woke up from her nap dry so I put her on the chair and she went potty. The chair sings a song when she uses it and she was so proud of herself. I was so excited, but I know that we have a long road ahead. We are not actively potty training, but I figured it can't hurt to get her familiar with the potty.
We also turned her car seat around so that now it is front facing. I think she liked being able to see what was going on.
Isha has also started wiping her face after she is done eating, wiping her nose and trying to comb her hair. She is growing by leaps and bounds. It is so fun to watch her learn all of this new stuff.
Isha is still working on perfecting her utensil skills. I made her some pasta the other day and figured she wouldn't eat it because she doesn't typically eat pasta, but she surprised me when she ate the whole bowl. Yum Yum Yum! Yesterday evening we went to visit with Tony, Angela, and the kids. Isha was having a good time watching uncle Tony play the Wii. And yes that is a paci in her mouth and I did just tell everyone that she only uses it in her crib, but we had just got her up from sleeping and were getting ready to head back to Richmond. We left at 11:15 at night and of course she stayed awake the whole 1 hour and 15 minute car ride home. And that was even after a dose of benadryl earlier in the evening. The girl just refuses to sleep in the car.

A Busy Little Daddy's Girl

Isha has really become a Daddy's Girl. When Jai walks in the door she starts screaming and can't run to him fast enough. The other day she was screaming and crying because he was outside and she could see him through the window, but couldn't get outside to be with him. No wonder she loves him so much! I love this little outfit. Grandma Louise sent the adorable shirt and we found the perfect jean skirt to go with it.

And now to the busy part. Isha loves to get into stuff. I used to try to keep her out of stuff, but I have realized that this is impossible, so now when I am cooking I let her pull the pots and pans out of the drawer and tear up the pantry. Here she is crawling all over the foot stool. Sometimes she gets herself stuck and needs a little help getting out of a mess. Then she crawls right back where she was! She definitely keeps me busy, but I am glad that she is exploring her world and learning lots of new and fun stuff!

Peas Up My Nose

I am afraid that one day we will be that family in the ER whose child has shoved a pea or bean either up their nose or in their ear. In our case, obviously, it will be the pea up the nose. I love the fact that her bib says LI'L FLIRT. I think it is hard to be a flirt when you have peas up your nose!
