Picture Success

Yesterday Isha and I went to have pictures taken and it was much better than the last trip. There was no crying and we had lots of great shots to choose from. I only have 1 or 2 pictures of me when I was pregnant with Isha because I thought that I was to fat. I decided that this time around I was going to take some pictures of me pregnant. I want to be able to look back on them and be able to share them with my girls. I love how this picture turned out. It is so sweet how Isha already loves Diya. I can't wait for her to finally get to meet her little sister. I love this picture. You can't see her beautiful eyes, but I love how sweet she looks. If only she acted this sweet all the time!

And here is her great big smile and pretty brown eyes! Our funny, spunky, naughty, sweet, beautiful and loving two year old (well, 2 1/2 year old now)!

An Update On Diya

That's right, we finally decided on a spelling!!! It is Diya Isabelle Oberoi. I can't believe that we are down in the double digits now on the ticker. Hopefully these last 7 weeks go by quickly and smoothly! Here is another picture of the expanding belly. Diya is a very active little girl and according to the doctor she is growing just fine and all is well. We are trying to get prepared for her arrival, but I just don't feel very motivated to get much done these days. I feel like we are so far behind. We had things prepared for Isha's arrival months ahead of time and this time around we are way more relaxed about it. I guess that is the difference between the first child and the second one. I have started to sort through all of Isha's old clothes and I finally bought a few diapers the other day. I have bought a few new outfits for her and some onesies. Diya has received some adorable booties from Holli, a sweet little pink sweater dress from Meg and a really cool bib, burp cloth and ballerina socks from her Tia! She is well on her way to being one well dressed and spoiled baby!!

In other news, we bombed out on the nursery bedding. What was sent to us was not what was pictured on Amazon so the search is on again for new bedding. Now we are leaning towards this adorable lady bug bedding set. Hopefully this time we will get what is pictured!

A Tiny Diva In Training

My sister in law sent these adorable aprons for Isha and me. Mine says Domestic Diva and Isha's says Diva In Training. Honestly I think we should remove the "in training" part from Isha's apron because lately she has been a full on DIVA. Here is a small sampling of some of her favorite new phrases: Don't boss me mom (she always points her finger at me when saying this one) Listen to me mom (once again finger is pointing at me) I don't have to listen to you mom It's MINE Don't worry about it mom (she always says this when she is getting in trouble for something) Yat Yat Mom (I think that this is Isha's version of "whatever") We have had some serious discussions about "back talking" lately. Hopefully they are sinking in because this has become really irritating. What happened to my sweet little girl? Other than some occasional naughtyness Isha is doing great. She is enjoying lots of time at the swimming pool and getting a great tan!!! In a few weeks she has summer camp at her preschool so that should be lots of fun. [It really irritates me when blogger decides to format my post however it wants. It was typed out all nice but everytime I publish it it's just one big paragraph!!! ARGH! Yat Yat Blogger!!!]

A Little Work On The Nursery

So far I have done nothing to get the new babies nursery ready (I am still calling her the new baby because we still have not decided on how to spell her name), but today I finally made a decision on the bedding for the nursery. I liked this pattern because it isn't one of those obnoxious baby patterns and it is something that she can use for awhile. It has purple accents so that is probably what we will choose for paint. I plan on knitting her a purple blanket to go with her pretty room. Now I just need to work on getting her room cleaned up. There are piles of Isha's old clothes on the floor and bed that need to be boxed up. One of these days I am going to have to get motivated, but I am not in a big rush because we will probably keep her in our room in the bassinet for awhile after she is born. I will have to post another belly picture because this girl is growing like crazy. She also moves around all the time. Isha loves feeling her move and she says that she loves her sister. I hope things stay that sweet once the baby actually gets here.

A Trip To Chincogteague

We decided to take a little road trip this weekend to Chincoteague Virginia. It is a nice drive up there once you are past all of the crazy Norfolk traffic! We crossed the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel and then drove about 90 miles up the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Here is the lighthouse on Assateague Island.

We didn't get to see very many of the wild ponies, but here is one with her baby.
The best part of the whole weekend was taking Isha to the beach on the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge.
She loved just sitting in the sand and shoveling it into her bucket! I think that she could have stayed there all day if we had let her.
Isha and Jai braved the freezing cold water. I got in up to my ankles and that was enough for me. It was so cold that it hurt, but Isha didn't seem to mind.
Isha sporting her new lady bug bikini without swim diapers. Yeah!!!
More digging in the sand.
Isha even let us bury her in the sand. Look at that foot in the corner of the picture. Usually it is my thumb that makes it in the picture, but this time I managed to get my foot in there. I guess it is a good thing that I can still see my feet despite my growing belly!
It was the perfect day to spend at the beach. It was in the mid to upper 70's and there was a nice cool breeze that kept us cool and comfortable.
And here is one sleepy little girl after a long day of playing on the beach, sight seeing and walking along nature trails. It was a nice get away and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Chesterfield Berrry Farm

Today we took a trip out to the Chesterfield Berry Farm and we had a blast!! Plus we came home with some sweet and tasty berries. Isha is all ready to head out and pick some berries.

Isha loved the hay ride the we took to get out to the berries. The wagon was pulled by a tractor which Isha thought was great. She has a tractor book that someone gave here and she wants me to read it to her all the time so she thought it was fun to see a real one. I guess she does have a little bit of Idaho in her!!!
Out in the field with our harvest. Usually Isha isn't much of a strawberry eater, but she sampled a few while we were out there picking.
On our trip back. Every time I go to the OB's office the scale has a bigger and bigger number and now I see where all those pounds are going!!
Our little berry picker!!!
After all the work we had a nice picnic lunch complete with a strawberry milkshake!! After lunch Isha played in the big bin of dried corn kernels and then we went out and fed the rabbits and goats. We really enjoyed our trip our today and I hope to go back this fall for blueberries!!!

Our Last Kindermusik Class

Tuesday was our last Kindermusik class. The instructor, Mary Jo, is not going to teach KM anymore because she is going to grad school so it was a sad class. Isha has really enjoyed learning about music and making new friends.

Isha has decided that she is ready to start driving!! YIKES. I thought we had a good 14 or 15 years before she started asking to drive the car. Every time we get in the car she say, "I want to drive your car!!!"
We are in so much trouble!!!!
A couple of weeks ago we sent Stitch back to Idaho to live with my parents and his brother. It broke my heart to see him go and it still makes me cry to not have him here, but he is loving life in Idaho. Him and his brother are enjoying each others company and he is getting lots of love and attention from my parents. I really miss him, but I am happy that he is getting all the love he deserves!!! Isha asks about him a lot and our neighbor, Laura, told here that Stitch is on vacation visiting his grandma, grandpa and brother.

We Finally Picked A Name

We picked a name for our new baby girl. We aren't sure about the spelling yet so vote in the poll and let us know what you think. Here it is: Dia, Diya, or Deeya Isabelle Oberoi

It is pronounced DEE-AH.

Potty Update

Isha is still doing great with her big girl panties. We have been accident free since Sunday the 3rd of May!! She is even making it through the night dry. We are so proud of her. The only issue is that Isha likes to check out all the potties when we are out of the house (yuck!) and she also likes to say she is done going and then as soon as you go to take her off the potty she says she has to finish. I told her the other day that going potty is not a game and that when she is finished she needs to let me get her off the potty. She proceeded to tell me in a very sassy voice, "I am NOT playing games MOM!!" Well now I know!!!

Isha Is Potty Trained!!!

Here she is sporting her big girl panties!!!

I can't even tell you how excited I am about this!!! We have been diaper free since April 29th! It was a ton of work and there were times that I was crying because I wanted to give up, but in the end I am glad I stuck it out because Isha is doing awesome!!! We started out with this three day potty training method where you throw out the diapers, only wear panties (no pull ups allowed), constantly ask if their panties are dry and have them let you know if they need to go and it also includes bedtime potty training! It is really intense and we stayed home for three straight days and things were going great in the beginning, but as time went on I could see that there was a serious power struggle developing. On the third day, after a huge melt down, I decided we needed to change our strategy. I toned down the praise (all my ranting and raving about going pee in the potty had gone to Isha's head and she knew she was in control), I stopped giving rewards, and I stopped asking her if she was dry or if she had to go. I just watched her closely and decided not to stress if she peed on the floor (we are getting the carpets cleaned soon anyways) and when I could tell she really had to go I would ask her if she needed to go and if she said no then I just ignored it. Eventually she would give in and use the potty. Yesterday was our best day so far. NO accidents and she woke up dry at nap time and this morning! I know that we are still going to have some accidents and I really have to be vigilant and getting out of the house is hard because I try to schedule outings around "safe" times, but I think that after a few weeks it will be much easier!!
As exciting as this is it is also kind of bitter sweet. Don't get me wrong I am not saying that I want to go back to diapers, but this is just a huge sign that she is growing up and she is no longer a baby.

Happy Easter

We had a wonderful Easter! We got up early and went to Mass and then came home and Isha got her Easter basket. She was very excited about the candy!!! Isha had fun checking out everything in her basket.

Of course she was itching to get into the candy. It is really cute the was she says M&M. It is so cute that I can't resist her!
After checking out all of her goodies in her basket we headed outside to hunt for eggs. She had a good time looking for eggs and eating the jelly beans that they were filled with. After egg hunting we headed downtown for some breakfast. We went to The Black Sheep and had a amazing breakfast! Jai works with one of the owners, so it was nice to go and support them.
After breakfast we went to Easter on Parade on Monument Avenue. We had fun taking in all of the sights. The cute dogs, crazy Easter bonnets and all the front yards decorated for Easter. We also spent a few minutes watching a puppet show that Isha really enjoyed.
After all the eating and walking around we came home for a much needed nap and then we had a yummy Easter dinner.
Today we went to get some spring pictures, which I had hoped to post here, but unfortunately Isha didn't cooperate so we will have to try again. She looked so cute in her pretty spring dress, but after all the crying and screaming it was obvious that it just wasn't going to happen. Keep your fingers crossed that next time is better so that you can all get your pictures.

Belly Picture

So here is the promised belly picture. I went out to dinner with the girls the other night and I figured since I actually looked decent I would let Jai take a picture. As I get bigger I will post some more, but I just want you to know that I am never going to be brave enough to post a picture with my shirt pulled up!!! This is going to be as good as it gets!

Isha was sad that Mommy was leaving for the evening!
Last weekend we went to a friends house to watch some college basketball. Here is Isha hanging out on the couch with her friend Jason.
YIKES!!! This girl really likes boys. Jai is going to have his hands full keeping Isha in line with the boys.
Isha loves vacuuming so I let her push this little vacuum around while I do the real work. It keeps her occupied and gives me time to get things cleaned up. I love that she has her glasses on. I guess her motto is "Just because you are doing house work doesn't mean you have to look like it!"

The Big Sister

Just a few pictures to share! Isha always pulls her PB&J sandwich apart and eats each side separately. I think she looks like the Joker in this picture!

Here she is all ready for church! She even let me put little pony tails in her hair.
And finally a shot of Isha just chillin in front of the TV. Wow, I wonder who taught her this skill?
Isha is really excited for her baby sister to get here. She is always asking me where the baby is. When I point to my tummy she comes over and gives the baby a kiss. It is really sweet. Let's just hope it stays this way!

It's A ...

Well it looks like 80% of you were wrong and that included me because: It's a ...

Girl!!!!
Here is a picture of her little feet!
Here is a 3D picture of her.
Our ultrasound went well. She has all the little parts that she is supposed to have and her little heart is beating perfectly. She is still really tiny which is amazing to me because she can really kick and squirm!
We are so excited that Isha is going to have a little sister!!! Now we just have to pick out a name and wait until this summer to meet her!

A Day at Maymont

We had beautiful 75 + degree weather this weekend so we decided to get outside and enjoy it! It was so wonderful to be outside and to feel the sun shining. We went to Maymont where we could enjoy all the big trees and some animals. We found a monkey playing in this tree. (Here is my belly shot! See what I mean about nothing there yet!)

Some of the trees here are perfect for climbing on and posing for pictures.
Isha and her Daddy
Isha was able to get up close to the carriage horses. She liked petting their soft noses.
The goats are very friendly at Maymont because they are used to being fed all day long by all the kids.

Go Broncos!

Here is Isha in her BSU overalls. She is playing with her friends at the Mall.

As for the belly pics...I don't have one yet. I am so long waisted that there is nothing showing. I can still wear my regular pants. Sorry girls, but I promise that as soon as there is something there I will post a pic for you. But here is a little bit of exciting news, I am now feeling the baby move and there is only three more weeks until we can find out the gender of the baby.
