Finally!

I finally got around to posting our Christmas adventures (It is below the new baby post). I am not sure I did the mosaic right, but after all the work I didn't feel like trying again! Blogger has also been weird lately about spacing. I put lines between paragraphs, but it still comes up in one big jumble. I was also going to post some other random pictures from our trip home, but now blogger won't let me upload pictures. ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

A Christmas Post Is Coming I Promise, But Until Then...

I am sorry that it has taken so long to get around to posting about Christmas. I now have all the pictures from my mom and I will be sorting through them and finally putting up some new posts about Christmas and our trip to Boise. But until then we have some big news here at the Oberoi house! Lilypie Expecting a baby Ticker That's right, Isha is going to be a big sister!!! We are going to have to come up with a new name for the blog because it is no longer going to be just baby Isha's world. Plus she is getting too big to be called baby Isha, especially since her second birthday is just around the corner!

Christmas 2009

Image hosted @ bighugelabs.com Well, I am finally getting around to the Christmas post. I made this mosaic, but for some reason it is really tiny. If you want to see the pictures you have to click on the mosaic. I am going to leave it this way until Jai gets home and then maybe he can help me figure out how to make it bigger. Christmas was great this year. We went home to Boise for Christmas and it was great to spend Christmas with family and lots of snow! We opened some presents on Christmas Eve and then we opened some more on Christmas morning. After church we came home and let Isha catch up on some sleep before heading over to my brothers for another Christmas celebration and a wonderful dinner. Isha must have been a good girl this year because Santa brought her a stocking full of goodies, of which her favorite is the lip gloss. She is such a girl! She got lots of clothes and toys, and a few of her favorites are her nursery rhyme CD player and her pony! She also got a beautiful pair of opal earrings to add to her collection of jewels! Then once we got home from Boise there were packages from Texas waiting for her. She had a great time ripping open all of the paper and finding out what goodies were inside!

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving with our friends, Adam and Laura, and Adam's family. It was really nice to have a place to go for Thanksgiving dinner. We had a great time and also had a wonderful meal. Isha tried a little bit of everything and liked it all. She especially liked the radish salad. Look at all of the food on the plate. It was empty when she was done plus I went back and got her more turkey! After dinner Isha did a little dancing for everyone.

Playing with a sword. She was a little dangerous with this thing.
Isha loved having Kaitlin as her personal pony!
Giddy Up!
My Mom's friend sent this hat for Isha and she always gets tons of compliments when she wears it. It think it is adorable.

Isn't She Cool

I realized that it has been a few weeks since I posted anything here, so here is an update. Last weekend I had and eye appointment and these were the sun glasses they gave me since I had my eyes dilated. Isha has been playing with them ever since. We really haven't been up to much lately. We are laying low until we go out to Boise for Christmas. Isha has really started talking lately. She still speaks mostly gibberish, but her list of real words gets bigger every day. Here is her list: sorry, sock, shoe, toes, apple, stop, please, cheese, bubble, hot, bus, baby, phone, door, knock, shake, up, down, what's that, stitch, poo poo, stuck, where's it at, toot and last but not least: fart!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Daddy Goes To Kindermusik

Jai also had Tuesday off so we all went to Kindermusik together. Isha loved having her daddy there.

She was hording all of the shakers and only wanted to sit on daddy's lap.
Isha is just sitting back relaxing and reading her magazine. What a ham.
Wednesday we went over and had lunch with Mandy, Hartley and baby John. This is the first time we have seen them in months. Isha and Hartley had a great time playing together and they gave each other lots of loves!

The Natural Bridge

Jai had Monday off so we decided to head out of town for the day. We went to the Natural Bridge . Here Isha is all bundled up for the walk down to the bridge.

Here she is at the end of the trail stretching her legs before we head back.
Of course she had to climb around and check everything out.
Here are a few shots of the Natural Bridge. It is about two hours from Richmond.
Did you know that the Natural Bridge is one of the seven natural wonders of the world? Pretty cool! We had a great time getting out of Richmond and enjoying the wonderful fall weather.

Happy Diwali

Last night we went to a Diwali (you can check out this link to see what Diwali is all about) party at our neighbors house. It was fun getting Isha all dressed up in her little Indian dress and seeing all the other little kids dressed up so pretty.

Here are Shreya and Deeya all dressed up for the party they are hosting. There was lots of dancing, visiting, and great South Indian food. We had a great time and we met lots of new friends.
Here is Shreya showing off some of her dance moves.
Here is Deeya just taking it all in.
Isha was doing double duty, dancing and mowing the floor. She had a blast dancing and running around playing with all the other kids.

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! Isha was a bumble bee for Halloween this year.
Here she is in her Ghostest with the Mostest shirt that she got from our neighbors, James and Karina.
This is one spoiled kiddo!
Our next door neighbors came over for hamburgers and hot dogs before trick or treating. Isha loves to hang out with the "big kids" from next door.
What a big girl!
We only went to a few houses, but Isha had a good time getting to visit with the neighbors and getting some yummy treats.

Charter Colony Fall Festival '08

Our neighborhood had an annual Fall Festival a few weeks ago so Isha and I went to check it out. Jai was out of town so it was a girl's afternoon out. Isha had her Halloween shirt on so that she was festive.

Isha went on her first hay ride around the neighborhood. She seemed to like riding along with the wind in her hair.
Her favorite part was the petting zoo. She loved the pony and kept going back to brush her.
She also spent some time feeding the goats and sheep (after she took a handful of food and tried it herself) and chasing the ducks and chickens around. They had cotton candy there and I tried to give her some but she refused to try it. She made a horrible face and acted like I was giving her something awful. For the sake of her teeth it is probably a good thing she didn't try it.
One of these things is not like the other
This weekend we went to a BBQ festival at our neighbor's church. We managed to get a picture of the kids from our small group. It made me laugh when I realized that Isha was the only kid that wasn't blond.

Hanging Out With Family

A couple of weeks ago Isha and I went up to Northern Va for Isha's cousin, Dillon's, first birthday. Jai was in Dallas so it was just Isha and me on this little road trip. Isha had a great time hanging out with all of her cousins.

She especially liked going down the slide with Shailen.
We had a great time visiting, eating yummy Indian food and playing on the slide. Hopefully we can head back up so that Isha can play with her cousins again.

New Pictures

Today Isha went and had some new pictures taken. She did a great job. There were so many cute ones, but her smile in this one was just too cute. Look at all those teeth. Everyone kept asking me what she was for Halloween. I guess all these rednecks around here don't know the difference between culture and Halloween. People we also asking if she was a dancer so she showed them some of her moves. Last week Isha helped me bake some pumpkin bread. She enjoyed pulling all the silverware out of the drawer and then putting it all back. Later that afternoon Isha's friends, Shreya and Deeya came over to play. It is great having friends that are twins because you get twice the fun when you invite them over for a play date! The girls live in our neighborhood and it has been lots of fun getting to know them. They all play together really well. Isha is lucky to have such cute and sweet little play mates.

Washington DC

Last weekend we went up to DC for a little get away. It was lots of fun, but I think we must have walked 100 miles at least. I was sore for two days after we got home. We took Isha to the Natural History Museum. We also relaxed in a beautiful garden for awhile until we realized we were being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Isha enjoyed stretching her legs. She is not a big fan of the stroller.

We got up Saturday morning and went to the National Zoo. The orangutans are allowed to swing all over the top of everyone. It is amazing to see them just hanging out right above your head. We sat and watched the cute Spectacle Bear for a little bit. Here is Isha kissing the panda statue. We didn't have much luck with the pandas. We saw one of them sleeping in the glassed in room. Last time we went we saw them playing in the trees which was cute. Daddy took Isha for a ride on the carousel. She had a great time, bet she screamed and cried when it was time to get off.
